Baldwins Repair Group’s owner sells business to single-investor

Baldwins Repair Group’s owner sells business to single-investor Steve Warner, owner of Baldwins Repair Group, has announced today that he has sold the business to single-investor, Richard Steer.

Richard brings a wealth of experience, industry knowledge and expertise with him having previously grown and developed successful businesses prior to this purchase. He will join the award-winning accident repairer as owner and Manging Director on 1 August.

Peter Randhawa will continue his role of Group General Manager at Baldwins Repair Group and oversee operations at all repair centres in Aylesbury, Corby, Leicester and Stratford-upon-Avon, as well as the build of the new London site.

During his ownership, Steve developed the business alongside Peter Randhawa. The sites have grown from one to five, manufacturer, insurer and network approvals have increased plus the business has become more involved in key initiatives high on the industry’s agenda, such as apprenticeships and electric vehicles.

Steve Warner said: ‘Following 15 very positive years at Baldwins, I have decided that it is time for me to take a step back and focus on other projects and new challenges. I can see the company’s future going from strength to strength with Richard – he has a great deal of experience and I believe he is the right man for the job. I want to thank the team for all their hard work over the years and I wish them every success for the future.’

Richard Steer said: ‘I am extremely excited about this opportunity. I come in with no pre-conceived ideas as I have worked with Baldwins for many years and I know it is a well organised and successful business. ‘My initial job is to visit the sites, meet the team and see how we, as a Group, can develop the business over time. I look forward to working with the already established team and building on the success of Baldwins Repair Group.

Peter Randhawa said: ‘I am very proud of what has been achieved for Baldwins so far under Steve’s ownership, but there is still much more to come. The future is very exciting for the business and we can only see positives in having Richard on board. During this change of ownership, it is still business as usual at all of our sites.’

Baldwins Repair Group is the first UK vehicle repairer working with Bluecity, London’s 100% EV car sharing scheme

Baldwins Repair Group is delighted to be the first UK accident repairer to work in partnership with Bluecity, the point-to-point electric car sharing scheme.

This unique scheme is being gradually rolled-out across London and is the capital’s first point-to-point car sharing scheme powered exclusively with green energy.

The Buckinghamshire based vehicle repairer, which operates out of four UK sites; started working with Bluecity in February 2018 and is proud to be accredited with the prestigious BSI BS10125 Kitemark for Vehicle Damage Repair – the highest endorsement available in the industry.

Baldwins Repair Group is responsible for managing the fleet of red, Lithium Metal Polymer battery-powered city-cars during electrical breakdown and accident repair. It also carries out pre-delivery inspections and post-repair inspections; plus, commissions and decommissions vehicles.

The vehicle repairer is fully equipped to repair all types of electric vehicles, including charge points at the Aylesbury repair centre; and a dedicated, highly skilled and fully electric vehicle (EV) trained team.

We are celebrating 15 years of operation!

2018 sees us enter our 15th year of operating as a bodyshop repair business.

Our first site, based in Aylesbury, was purchased by Steve Warner and his business partners in 2003. Today, Steve is the 100 percent shareholder. He continues to run the Group and manage it alongside Group General Manager Peter Randhawa.

To grow and strengthen our position, we have increased our site numbers to five. This includes our fast track centre in Leicester and our London site, which is currently in the planning process to create a purpose-built facility.

We currently employ over 100 employees and we are proud to be the approved bodyshop for manufacturers Ford, Honda, MG and Mistsubishi. We are also approved by a number of insurers including LV=, Covea, Allianz and esure.

Our Managing Director Steve Warner says: “Our success so far has been achieved through the hard work and dedication of all our employees and previous Directors.

“Going forward we have the appetite for further growth, without losing customer focus; and keeping our positive relationships with our work providers. We will continue to train and develop our team in order to improve our service and efficiencies.
