FRAUD PREVENTION STATEMENT
Steer Automotive Group is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct and has a zero-tolerance approach towards fraud and corruption.
Fraud is never acceptable. Fraud, in any form, undermines our business and values and threatens the trust of our customers, suppliers, and employees.
Every employee and individual acting on Steer’s behalf is responsible for maintaining its reputation and for conducting its business honestly and professionally.
The Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the implementation of effective systems and controls to prevent, detect, and respond to fraudulent activities. We aim to fight fraud and corruption by encouraging prevention whilst also promoting detection.
We are committed to:
- implementing and maintaining robust internal controls and reporting mechanisms to deter, prevent and detect fraudulent activities;
- regularly assessing our fraud risks;
- promoting awareness and carrying out regular training for staff to ensure they understand their responsibilities in fraud prevention and empower them to recognise and report fraudulent behaviour;
- promptly and professionally investigating alleged or detected fraud;
- imposing appropriate sanctions and redress where fraud or corruption are proven;
- continuously reviewing and strengthening our fraud prevention measures to ensure they remain effective and aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements; and
- continuously improving our systems and processes to adapt to emerging fraud risks.
We expect all employees, partners and contractors to:
- adhere to our Code of Conduct;
- act honestly and ethically in all business dealings;
- be vigilant and report any suspicious activity or concerns promptly;
- cooperate fully with any investigations into suspected fraud; and
- understand and follow our fraud prevention policies and procedures.
All reports of suspected fraud will be investigated promptly and thoroughly, and appropriate action will be taken where necessary. If you suspect fraud or unethical behaviour involving any Steer entity or personnel, please report it confidentially via people@steer.co.uk
