We’re pleased to announce we’re welcoming North East Accident Repair Centres into the Steer family. In doing so, NEARC’s three operating sites in Newcastle, Sunderland and Darlington generate additional capacity to further support our insurer client partners across their growing business.
The two owners of NEARC, Roger Collings and Bob Taylor, were looking to sell their shareholding and despite interest from several parties they felt that Steer Automotive was the best cultural fit for their business with a similar approach to quality vehicle repairs, strong colleague engagement and a focus on providing excellence in customer service.
“Acquiring the well-established and successful multi-site North East Accident Repair Centres, further strengthens our market presence in the region and provides a strategic fit which complements our existing 6 site Steer North East operation. The addition of North East Accident Repair Centres to the existing Steer Group takes the combined operation to 60 sites with 1,400 staff and the capability to repair 85,000 vehicles per annum.
