What a fantastic few days at Automechanika UK 2025. Once again, the event delivered a brilliant showcase for the automotive industry, and we were proud to be involved.

Across the three-day programme, our Steer Apprentice Ambassadors took an active role in the Motorvate area, supporting the The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) & WorldSkills UK Competition Showcase – a space designed to engage young talent and offer a hands-on introduction to automotive careers.

Arran Cooper, Nathan Hoe, and Madison Godfrey delivered interactive competition-style activities – including the popular Paint Matching Challenge and PDR Challenge – which consistently attracted interest and encouraged conversations around the opportunities apprenticeships can offer. Their professionalism, knowledge, and enthusiasm made a clear impression on visitors and organisers alike.

On the final day, Rosie Smith took part in a panel on the Body Repair Live Stage, discussing how we can cultivate skilled talent for the future. She also spent time connecting with organisations such as Thatcham Research, NBRA, and AutoRaise – strengthening valuable relationships across the sector.

The event provided a powerful platform to promote apprenticeship pathways, celebrate the skills of our ambassadors, and demonstrate what’s possible through meaningful training and support.

Thank you to Arran, Nathan, Madison, and Rosie for the way you represented Steer throughout the event. Your energy, professionalism, and commitment were clear to see, and your contribution helped make the Skills Showcase a real success.
